What is Akzo Nobel?

Is this some new play or artist’s name?  No, it is actually the name of a Dutch company that creates paints and performance coatings and produces specialty chemicals for both industry and consumers worldwide.  This may be your first introduction to this multi-national company and, don’t worry there won’t be a quiz later!

AkzoNobel is a leading coatings company whose key products include automotive coatings, specialized equipment for the car repair and transportation market.  They are head and shoulders the leader in refinish color matching.  Its quality allows the auto body shop that uses its coatings to guarantee their work for the rest of your vehicle’s life.

So, where do you find an auto body shop that uses AkzoNobel coatings?  In the Louisville area that shop is the Don Embry Body Shop.  We are proud to feature this world-wide leader in refinishing materials.  It is just simply one more reason to choose us when you need auto body repair at our location 8272 Dixie Highway shop in Louisville.  Call ahead at (502) 935-1373.

My Insurance Company Wouldn’t Lie to Me.

Oh yeah, that’s what you think!  When you have a car accident that requires auto body repair it is incumbent upon your insurance provider to pay for the repairs.  After all, that is why we pay premiums month after month.  They have a “few preferred” shops where they want you to go for all of the repairs…hmm kick-back?

Here are some outright lies that your insurance company may tell you –

1.  We won’t guarantee the work if you don’t use one of ours.

2.  If you choose your own shop you will have to pay the difference.

3.  We don’t have a working relationship with that shop so you can’t use them.

4.  It could take longer to settle your claim.

Trust me, NONE of that is necessary!  We at Don Embry Body Shop consider YOU our top priority NOT your car insurance company.  When grandpa Don founded the company back in 1962 honesty and integrity were common.  Today, those traits are more scarce.  Not around here!  Come in for a free estimate at our 8272 Dixie Highway shop in Louisville.

Our Past is Our Future.

It sounds cryptic, but many businesses have been around for decades and don’t bear any resemblance to their profile today.  This is NOT the case with us.  Don Embry Body Shop was founded in 1962 and has stayed in the family ever since!  How many businesses can make a statement like that?

Back in the era of the Beatles things were very different.  However, one thing remains the same…if you were founded by your patriarch you had better honor his memory with the same quality, customer satisfaction, and honesty that dad/grandpa brought to the business at the beginning of the 1960’s.

That is our pledge to you five and a half decades later.  It is not easy maintaining such a high standard.  So many businesses are no longer run with the same TLC that grandpa/dad insisted on.  Our generations of repeat customers speak volumes.  If you need us, we will be there.  We are Louisville’s premier auto body shop…Don Embry Body Shop located at 8272 Dixie Highway.

What to do if your Car gets Rear-Ended.

It happens to most of us at one time or another.  You are stopped at a light and, suddenly you are jolted nearly out of your seat.  A careless driver has rear-ended you.  A rear-end collision can cause damage to the body of the car as well as the mechanics of your vehicle.  There’s a high possibility of transmission damage from a rear-end collision in cars that have rear-wheel drive.

How will you know that your vehicle has a bigger problem?

1.  Your transmission begins slipping.

2.  You have difficulty shifting, or you actually shift into the wrong gear.

3.  A noticeable leak in your transmission fluid.

Many times, it appears that a rear-end collision is rather benign as long as there are no signs of injury.  Beware, there may be more than meets the eye!  Make an appointment at 8272 Dixie Highway in Louisville.  That is the home of The Don Embry Body Shop.  It will only get worse over time.  Give us a call at (513) 935-1373.

Is Fixing your Front Bumper a DIY job?

It could be.  An accident that's left the front of your car or truck smashed up isn't the end of the world.  You’ve smashed the front end of your vehicle. Winter snow storms are prime time for rear ending another car or truck.  The type and amount of car insurance that you have will go a long way in determining what to do next.

Here is a major consideration…there’s very little way of knowing for sure whether your frame suffered damage by looking at it at home.  If the entire car or truck looks like it’s sitting much lower on one side, you may want to get your vehicle inspected by a collision specialist to determine how far off things have gotten.

Over time, and frequent driving in all types of changing Louisville area weather the decision to do it yourself may be a costly and dangerous one.  Why not have any front-end collision damage checked?  We are here for you.  Just make an appointment at our auto body repair shop located at 8272 Dixie Highway.  We are Don Embry Body Shop.  Give us a call at (513) 935-1373.
