Where were You Hit?

It’s one of the questions that is asked after a car accident.  Where the impact occurred could have a great deal of “impact” as to what has been damaged on your vehicle.  Most late model cars on the market come with remote keyless entry capability.  When that gets damaged on your ride it can really paralyze your driving ability.

After an accident the shop that you take it to should use your keyless entry at close range, listening to your vehicle as they press the buttons.  They should be able to hear the vehicle make a "click" when it receives the information from the remote, which will tell them that the remote is working.  If this is the case, the issue is in the car rather than the remote.

That is where the experts at The Don Embry Body Shop go to work.  They are trained to troubleshoot a number of possible problems that may occur after a collision.  For over 50 years Louisville area residents have counted on The Don Embry Body Shop to get them back on the road as good as new.  Make an appointment at 8272 Dixie Highway by calling (502) 935-1373.

The Difference Between Aluminum and Steel Welding.

A great auto body repair shop is proficient at both.  Since aluminum is much lighter than steel the aluminum welds solidify much faster than a steel weld.  Aluminum welding is a little trickier, so the auto body repair expert must treat the metal a little differently because aluminum has different properties.

One of the pitfalls is that the welder uses the color of the heated metal to keep track of their progress when working with steel.  When it comes to aluminum, it doesn't show color quite as well, and the molten metal looks silvery but is less obvious.  If one is not careful, he can end up with a puddle of liquid metal dripping away leaving a hole in its wake.

We know that 99% of you out there are not concerned about the intricacies of aluminum vs. steel welding.  You can bet that WE are.  Here at The Don Embry Body Shop we have witnessed the advances in auto body repair for well over five decades.  We will be there at 8272 Dixie Highway in Louisville if you need us.  Just call (502) 935-1373.
